Poetry Schmoetry Blogfest

Yay!! Time for another Blogfest. This one is hosted by Shelly, and you can sign up here! Here are the details though, for what you have to do!

1. Follow this blog
2. Sign up by filling out the Linky below
3. Write a Poem
(ANY kind of poem or you could even blog about 'why I hate poetry.' I'm cool with that.)
4. Post your poem the week of July 11th-14th (midnight PST)

And now it's time for me to share my poem! It is in fact an older poem, and one that's been converted into a song, which you can hear/download for free here.

"Xerxes"

Where there is a will
There is a way
My will is strong
The way will follow

Lots of talk
And a lot of action
This I promise
There's no forgetting me

I'm going in
I'm searching for the key
I'll open your door
I'll find you

Little boy lost
You're hiding away
You can't live that way
No you can't live that way

Lots of kissing
Lots of tumbling
Push you up against the wall
No you won't forget me

I'm going in
I'm searching for the key
I'll open your door
I'll find you

  1. I'm useless at poetry, but it seems you've written one determined girl here.

  2. I wish I had known about this one (though I guess there's still time). I just don't like the 'have to follow' rule. I wouldn't mind following, I just like to read the blog first, and to get to feel like I know them.

  3. I know how you feel Brooke...but oh well, it makes sense that they want to get something out of it - read, more followers!

  5. Wow, this is a great poem! I'm totally hopeless when it comes to poetry, I'm really impressed. I especially love this:

    "I'm going in
    I'm searching for the key
    I'll open your door
    I'll find you"

    Great work! :)

  31. @Randy - thank you!

@Simon - yeah, sometimes I will write music, then trawl through years of poems looking for the right words. But this time the words were sort of written with music in mind.

@Angela and Madeline - must be something about that stanza! Personally I kind of like it myself too. hehe

    @Tyrean - thank you!

@Shelly - no worries. Thank YOU for hosting a great blogfest.

@Cherie - thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
